This is a must-visit destination, offering not just a beach but also streams, rocks, and beautiful grassy areas. There's ample parking space available, and access to the beach is straightforward. On your way there, you might even spot some charming horses in the farmland by the fence.

Absolutely stunning. One of those classic black sand beaches on New Zealand’s West Coast. We had the beach to ourselves. Great at low tide, you can walk around the rocks and enjoy the cliffs and unique landscape but don’t let the tide catch you out. Not sure if you can swim here it seems wild and rugged. One of my favourite beaches in New Zealand

Beautiful isolated black sand beach. No surf club so don’t recommend swimming but on incoming tide could swim in estuary. Camping ground and cabins on private land on the hill overlooking the coast - well worth while with all facilities and a view to beat all others - gorgeous
