A stunning destination to explore, but remember to take your trash with you. Freedom camping is NOT ALLOWED in Kiritehere. The closest petrol station or food outlet is approximately 50 kilometers away, so ensure you bring enough supplies.

Stunning beach! The rock pools were fantastic for the kids (ages 1, 5, and 6) when the tide was out. There's also a beautiful river running through the beach, perfect for swimming. We didn't find any fossils, but we weren't looking too hard either. There are awesome little caves hidden throughout. I highly recommend visiting this beach at low tide. It's not ideal for swimming, but the rock pools and river more than make up for it. We're definitely planning to get a holiday home here! **Note: There are rubbish bins and toilets available. No network coverage. It's a remote location with no shops or gas stations nearby; the closest are in Kawhia or Otorohanga, just over an hour's trip away.**

Beautiful and secluded location. It's roughly an hour away from Waitomo, with no petrol stations, cell phone coverage, or shops nearby, so make sure to bring your own food and drinks. There is a toilet available, and freedom camping is permitted. At the southern end of the beach, you can find 200-million-year-old shell fossils embedded in the rocks. For fossil hunting, it's best to go when the tide is out. We saw a few 4WD vehicles on the beach, and people were fishing from the shore.

This is a must-visit destination, offering not just a beach but also streams, rocks, and beautiful grassy areas. There's ample parking space available, and access to the beach is straightforward. On your way there, you might even spot some charming horses in the farmland by the fence.
