Probably one of the most underrated beaches on Ko Tao, but take the time to visit here, for sure!
It is well known for its white sand, easy entrance into the water, general lack of wind on most days (it’s protected from the predominantly northeast winds), iconic beach trees, and rocky landscapes along the edges. Snorkeling is popular here, and you can rent snorkeling gear at the restaurant, but I will have to admit that the sea life and corals at this spot were unimpressive.
You can access the beach through the Ko Tao Relax resort entrance for a fee of only 50 baht (about a dollar and a half), or just have a water taxi drop you off here to avoid the fee.
The entrance fee includes a beach chair, but not a towel. It gets really busy in the afternoon, so arrive early if you want a good place to sit. It’s a long set of stairs down to the beach, but it’s well maintained and fairly easy to walk.
Snorkeling gear can be rented for the day for only 50 baht at the restaurant.
There is a fairly good bar and restaurant here that stays open until about 6 or 7 PM.
There are good restrooms available, too, and adequate space for changing clothes, if you need to.
It is an amazing place to watch sunsets, and it is very popular for that.
Finally, even though there are a lot of trees along the beach, there are still plenty of places where you can relax and get a tan, if you like.
We will definitely recommend this beach to others visiting Ko Tau.
