During our road trip through southeast Sicily, we visited both Lido di Noto and Marina di Ragusa on separate days, which made it easy to compare the overall experience.
Although Marina di Ragusa has the higher BeachSearcher rating, Lido di Noto ended up being our favourite. We spent a full weekday here in July and loved the relaxed atmosphere. The beach isn’t huge, but it’s well maintained, and the distinctive brownish-orange sand gives it a unique look. I also found the sand noticeably cleaner than at Marina di Ragusa, and the crystal-clear turquoise water was fantastic for swimming. The beach can get busy in summer, but it never felt overcrowded during our visit.
One of the highlights was having lunch at Lido Azzurro Noto – Hosteria del Mare, right on the beach. We had a table in the front of the sea view. Amazing. Great food, beautiful sea views and a relaxed atmosphere made it one of our favourite meals of the trip.
