Led by an officially certified English-speaking private guide, the tour covers sites like the camp’s original administration headquarters, roll-call square, reconstructed barracks, the ‘Arbeit macht frei’ gateway, religious memorials, and the crematoriums. You will not only learn about the history of the camp, but also how the victims from over 30 different countries are remembered today. You'll hear stories about Dachau’s former prisoners and have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the aspects of Dachau that interest you most. The guide will meet you at your centrally located Munich hotel or at the Munich train station (Hauptbahnhof) and you will proceed together by train to Dachau. All transport costs are covered in the tour price. Please note: children age 13 and under are not allowed by the memorial site to participate in tours of Dachau.
