Enjoy your meal while taking in the panoramic views over the reserve and put those binoculars to test. After lunch we will explore the northern sector of the reserve while keeping our eyes pealed. Spend another 3.5 hours traversing the Hluhluwe side of the reserve. At approximately 16h00 we will start to make our way back to Durban.

You will wind down the Sani Pass after this cultural experience and arrive back in Underberg between 4pm - 4:30pm, depending on the wildlife spotted along the way.

Kindly Note: Prior reservations are essential in order to have lunch at the Highest Pub in Africa during the tour. Unfortunately due to the lodges limited capacity entry is granted only to guests that will be eating with them, this also means that the lodge is unfortunately unable to accommodate guests who wish solely to have a drink, use the WIFI, or restrooms.

 Alternatively we offer our guests the option of either having lunch at a lovely local Basotho restaurant, or feel free to bring along your own snacks and drinks for in the vehicle while on the tour.

This 4-hour guided tour is a chance to see and learn about the Zulu culture and it's ancient beliefs and rituals. It also gives you a chance to see crocodiles and snakes at the Reptile Park.

This tour has two main features. First you will visit St Lucia and the estuary inside the  iSimangaliso Wetlands Park. There you will board a river boat for a  2 hours guided tour of the estuary. The local guide will inform you of the reserves history and its incredible wildlife. Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park is the oldest proclaimed national park in Southern Africa and where the rhino populations were saved from extinction in the 1960s. It is home to the Big 5 plus the majestic endangered Wild Dogs (also known as Painted Dogs), cheetahs and other African wildlife. You will join Ashley in his closed SUV vehicle on a relaxed yet immersive African experience searching for wildlife, big and small, taking in the vast landscape, the stunning flora and fauna, and soaking up the sightings, sounds and smells of the African bush. After a day on safari, you will understand this sentiment, there is something truly magical about spending time out on safari, watching wildlife in its natural habitat, and going about its everyday tasks! Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve set in the heart of Zululand where Africa’s Big 5 (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhinoceros) roam the flourishing savannah. Established in 1895 this is the oldest park in South Africa and encompasses over 98000 hectares of beautiful African landscape. This tour is in a closed vehicle. The Park contains an immense diversity of fauna and flora and is characterised by hilly topography. The list of animals at the park is long and varied. Hluhluwe Game Reserve makes up the northern top half of the reserve which is renowned for its diverse variety of bird and animal life. South of Hluhluwe is the Imfolozi Game Reserve which makes up half of the park. These two reserves were joined together to create the largest reserve in KwaZulu Natal.

The trips occur early in the morning when the sharks are most active and the weather conditions are at their calmest.
