Enjoy an exciting full day, possible “Big 5” photo safari shore excursion from Richard's Bay that is tailored to suit your ship's schedule. Travel north into the heart of Zululand to visit the oldest game reserve in South Africa, the Hluhluwe & Imfolozi Game Reserve. This reserve is host to the “Big 5” – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino – as well as many other exciting wildlife species. Around midday, you will be treated to a light lunch at one of the picnic spots in the reserve, then continue the safari for a few hours, before returning to port, cameras filled with footage of Africa’s wildlife at its best!

Unfortunately due to the lodges limited capacity entry is granted only to guests that will be eating with them, this also means that the lodge is unfortunately unable to accommodate guests who wish solely to have a drink, use the WIFI, or restrooms. Alternatively we offer our guests the option of either having lunch at a lovely local Basotho restaurant, or feel free to bring along your own snacks and drinks for in the vehicle while on the tour.

The trips occur early in the morning when the sharks are most active and the weather conditions are at their calmest. Climb the world famous Sani Pass to 2874 metres above sea level, stopping for lunch at the Highest Pub in Africa and then onto visiting a living Basotho Village in Skeering, Lesotho. We look forward to seeing you! After lunch the tour continues into a living Basotho village, where your experienced mountain guide will interest you on Lesotho and its people. Traditional beer and homemade bread offered on request. You will wind down the Sani Pass after this cultural experience and arrive back in Underberg between 4pm - 4:30pm, depending on the wildlife spotted along the way.
