The West of the island is one of the most, if not the most, impressive parts. You really don't want to miss all the sites around here or rush through them. The West is worth a full day of exploring on its own. The best spots for views of the caldera and lakes are off the main road, and finding them is not easy. This experience includes them all, and you are only able to do this in a half day with the help of a local driving you. You will see Sete Cidades Blue and Green lakes, from up and down the mountain, and also the best views for Santiago and Canário lakes, as well as the epic Grota do Inferno viewpoint. We will follow to the darkest sand beach in the island, and dazzling natural pools, in Mosteiros. If its Summer time you can have a refreshing swim on the clear waters or save it for the open sea hot springs, heated by the breath of the volcano during low tide, at Ferraria.

The excursion starts early in the morning at your Hotel, we start on the south coast, visiting Vila Franca do Campo and its Historic center, we go up to the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Paz (built in 1764) where you can see a panoramic view over the village, in this locality you can find the famous Queijadas of the village. we continue south towards the magnificent village of Furnas where you can visit and bathe in the lush thermal waters. We continue to Lagoa das Furnas where we will visit Lagoa, a place surrounded by fumaroles and boilers. A magical place is in this same place that we will see the famous Cozido, which is found in holes of about one meter, after having lunch and then visiting the Boilers and mineral waters where you can taste each one. The return route is made by the North, visiting the peak of the iron where you can see a view of the lagoon and the furnas at an altitude of 600m, then we stop at Fabrica do Chá, tasting the magnificent São Miguel tea.
