The drive to this beach is absolutely breathtaking. The facilities are simple but sufficient and well-maintained. When I visited a few days ago, it wasn't crowded, with only three other campers and a lively group of teenagers enjoying a party at the campground. Personally, I didn't mind their presence as they seemed to be having a great time. The sunrise was truly amazing, although the area can get quite windy. If you're fortunate, you might even catch a glimpse of the mesmerizing 'natural whirlpools' from the Lookout.

The beach is small, but it's quite enjoyable. I had the chance to meet some fascinating individuals and had a delightful evening.

The managers at the beach were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. The lady at the dairy was also very kind and assisted us in reaching out to the manager. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We are extremely grateful! The view at French Pass was absolutely stunning. We witnessed a massive pink moon rising from the sea, which was a sight like no other. The restroom facilities were exceptionally clean, and the shower room was spacious with a convenient hook for hanging a solar shower bag. We will definitely be returning in the future!

The beach area is absolutely beautiful, and it seems like some people were lucky enough to spot dolphin pods in the early morning. I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance since there aren't many spots available, and the road leading there is quite steep and made of gravel. Despite the challenging journey, it's definitely worth it to stay at this stunning place. Additionally, there is a shop on-site that offers a wide range of convenient items, including free range eggs.

French Pass is an absolutely amazing destination that I have been frequenting for a quarter of a century. It's an ideal location for camping, fishing, and even hopping on a boat to d'Urville Island. It's truly a breathtaking place to explore and spend time in, and I cannot recommend it enough. Although the road leading to the pass can be quite curvy, just drive cautiously and there won't be any issues. Don't forget to bring your camera along!
