Kitchen has always been the fulcrum of this home, where my family is living since more than 7 generations. I have always been fascinated by my grandmother's ability to prepare awesome dishes from Tuscan tradition, always with few, simple but precious ingredients. That cultural heritage was in danger of disappearing: I spent a lot of time cooking with her, trying to learn her recipes and secrets. In the end, I realized that she had given me a bigger gift: I had assimilated her cooking philosophy! Then, I realized that tradition is not a dusty book but a living thing able also to adapt to new conditions, and even improve. I studied ingredient's seasonality, their sustainable production systems, new cooking techniques, techniques of tasting: almost without realizing it, in the meantime, I became Chef and finally, also Sommelier. Since a lot of years, I decided to share this path: a long path that is not yet finished... Giacomo

This unique experience allows you to visit the most interesting places in the Val d'Orcia and Montepulciano, traveling along country roads to admire nature and art. The tour begins and ends at the Fattoria Madonna della Querce, next to the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Querce in Montepulciano. This farm raises Cinta Senese pigs, a type of black pig with a white cinta, of ancient Tuscan origins. We'll take a short walk through the olive trees and vineyard to reach the pigs, who roam free, separated by an electric fence. We can walk with them, touch them, and take photos. Lunch is included in the experience and includes a menu including: Bruschetta, ribollita (soup soup) in the winter and panzanella (soup soup) in the summer, a platter of our cured meats, Pienza pecorino cheese with jams, cantucci biscuits and vinsanto (sweet dessert wine), water, house wine, and espresso.
With the help of our Chef, native to this area, you will discover the unique flavors of local cuisine as you explore our traditional lifestyle. The course includes the preparation of 4 typical recipes. We start our experience preparing the special sauce of Crostino Toscano, traditional appetizer. Then we’ll make handmade pasta: Pici, real treasure of south Tuscany. For the sauce we’ll prepare the typical Aglione, which is a tomato sauce made with a special giant garlic of the area. As dessert we’ll prepare Cantucci, traditional cookies of Valdichiana. They are very good dipped in Vin Santo, special sweet wine of our region. After this unique experience, all your efforts will be rewarded by enjoying the sumptuous meal prepared with your own hands during the cooking class. Enjoy your meal!
The experience is one of a kind because it allows you to learn while appreciating what surrounds you. The teacher is very understanding and helpful and able to accommodate all guests' requests. Combining art, culture and nature is the perfect mix.
An intimate and relaxing experience that begins with a tour of the winery and the cellar, followed by a tasting of 3 wines from our collection and of our Extra Virgin Olive Oil “Fattoria Svetoni”. A simple and pleasant way to understand our story and enjoy the classical tastes of Tuscany. One of the wines will be for sure the main of the region: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG, one of the most representative manifestations of Sangiovese grape variety. Known as "the King of Tuscany", together with Montepulciano "terroir", it creates elegance and complexity.
Once arrived at Fattoria Svetoni, you will have a wine tour discovering the winery and the history of one of the oldest 'leopoldina farmhouse' in Montepulciano. After the tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive and fascinating tasting inside the centuries-old cellar, surrounded by barrels and intense wine perfumes. The tasting will focus on our Sangiovese-based wines.
Once you have booked the tour, you will be able to go to the rental point to pick up your bikes and leave with the Virtual Guide, who will accompany the experience step by step. The tour is an easy and scenic loop of about 36 km, on dirt roads in good condition and short stretches of provincial road, avoiding the steepest variants. The first stops include the Church of San Biagio and a ride through cypresses and vineyards along Via della Montagna, to a beautiful viewpoint over the Val d’Orcia and Monte Amiata. The route continues with a scenic descent towards Monticchiello, between hairpin bends and rows of cypress trees, with a recommended stop in the village, near La Guardiola. The return crosses the Val d’Orcia again, with optional stops at Podere Il Casale and Capitoni/Fabbrica wineries. You then pass by Poggiano, with a view of Montepulciano, and with the possibility of a last stop at Caseificio Cugusi before returning.
In the heart of a 1300s village, you will discover the history and a family where the Nobile di Montepulciano will be the protagonist. Enjoy the tour that will take you from the winery to the vineyards. In this experience you will be guided on a walk among the rows of 50 year old Prugnolo Gentile and Sangiovese and among the oak barrels of the aging cellar dating back to 1300, where the native Rosso di Montepulciano "Dogana", the Nobile di Montepulciano "Maestro", the elegant Nobile Riserva and the Terrarossa are still produced. At the end of the visit you will have the opportunity to taste 6 labels in a unique place: the panoramic terrace overlooking the beautiful vineyards of the estate and a 360 degree view of Montepulciano.
Roberto knows his pigs one by one; they are raised in a semi-wild state, with carefully selected feed and cereals grown in the Tuscan countryside. The experience is as rural as it is unforgettable; after a walk through the vineyards and the olive grove, you will have the opportunity to interact with "Ciro", the domestic pig, and to meet all his company of Cinta Senese pigs having fun in the mud. after meeting these cute animals (and maybe even taking some selfies with them), it will be time to delight your palate with a tasting platter of Cinta Senese cured meats or a quick lunch based on agricultural products, perhaps collected directly in the garden from you.
Wander through the storybook charm of Montepulciano, where cobbled lanes echo with history and every corner hides a gem. Stroll along Gracciano Street lined with artisan boutiques, soak up sweeping views from Voltaia Belvedere, and feel the heartbeat of the city in lively Piazza Grande.
