Cala del Vino

We read the reviews (not just from Google) and ventured towards this cove, which we rename "Cala te er vino", as you have to be a little tipsy to classify it as ideal "for families" (see photo). The aforementioned "Cala" is truly just nature, with the addition of dirt and corpses of old boats. All very disturbing. The gem is that to get there you either travel a kilometer of dirt road on foot, parking in the middle of nowhere before risking leaving your car stuck in one of the various craters forever, or you have a real off-road vehicle (but which SUV!!!) and also the ability to carry it. Overall, a negative experience. We strongly advise against going there! P.s. Rocks, stones and nothing else! Even if you want to adapt, on foot with umbrella and towel this cove is impassable.

An excellent coastal landscape. The hike along the coast is worth it.

Cala del Vino north of Porticciolo is an inlet on the west coast of Alghero, where a beach consisting of large pebbles and little gravel has formed. It is located between Porticciolo beach and Cala del Turco. We are in the Porto Conte Regional Natural Park. It can be reached by sea, but the approach must be done with caution due to the presence of emerging or submerged rocks. Reachable by land also with off-road cars along the streets that pass behind the "Torre del Porticciolo" campsite or on foot following the path that skirts the cliffs, both from Cala del Turco and from Porticciolo beach (about half an hour's walk from this ). Geological interest for Permian-Triassic sedimentary formations: greenish grey-brown sandstones (with rhizolites) alternate with reddish mudstones. The plateaus overlooking the Cala are the result of reforestation with pines (Aleppo and domestic) and other non-native species. Interesting is the scrub with a prevalence of Phoenician juniper (Juniperus phoenicea) with creeping or flag-shaped specimens, which alternates with the garrigue with numerous endemic species (e.g. Limonium spp.). Presence of tamarisks. Unfortunately, the Cala is disfigured by significant quantities of plastic waste beached by the sea and transported by the wind and by the presence of abandoned boats. The streets leading to the Cala are too numerous, with deep forms of erosion due to the run-off of the water.

Those who gave five stars drank the wine, and a lot. I agree with everything Carlo Obiso wrote. Nothing has changed, and the satellite view on google map is not updated. Road impassable with SUV, perhaps you can get there well with a quad, non-existent beach, abandoned boats. Don't go there, stop at the marina cove.
