Azerbaijan’s countryside on a 3-day 2-night hiking and trekking tour to remote villages of Guba along historic trails of the Greater Caucasus Mountains that have been used by ancient people of the Mountains. This trekking travells through changing landscapes, nature and wildlife above sea level up to 2360m altitude. You experience the coexistence of communities, though in separate settlements, Shiites, Sunnis and Jews in Guba, and ancient peoples of Khinaligis, Grizis in remote villages. You also do a homestay with host families in the villages we travel to. Meanwhile, you will taste the local cuisine of people.
We invite you to join us on a unique 9-day trek through remote villages in the stunning green Caucasus Mountains along Azerbaijan's northern border. We will hike approximately 46 kilometers during these days, taking you up a stony trail toward the land of the Qriz people, one of the many ethnic groups in the Quba district, with roots in Caucasian Albania. Quba is home to 28 different ethnic groups living in isolated villages in this remote region. From Quba, our route will lead us to the remote villages of Jek, Elik, Bostankesh, Khinaliq, Qalakhudat, and Qriz. The Qriz villages retain a sense of isolation and a simple agricultural way of life. The unique lifestyle of its people makes Khinalig, one of Azerbaijan's famous mountain villages, often compared to an open-air museum.

The history of this village goes right back until the Albanian period. The remains of ancient caves of early humans are still left in this territory between the mountains. Due to its long history, Khinaliq village is considered one of the oldest inhabited places in the world and has been included in the UNESCO list of World Historical Monuments.
