Leaving Hell your tour continues on to Tortuga Rum Company where you will be able to sample the number one export from the Cayman Island which is our Tortuga Rum Cakes, and their blends of Rums. Both grew up on the island and love sharing their passion for the ocean. The boat is a 23ft StarCraft and can comfortably seat up to 8 guests. All snorkel gear and lifejackets are provided if needed. There is a great sound system on board with Bluetooth connection (so download your favorite playlists). The water in Bio Bay is very warm and salty with an abundance of nutrients and seagrass, the perfect environment for special microscopic plankton. These plankton occur all over the island, and all over the Caribbean, but the concentration we find in Bio Bay is what makes for a fantastic experience. Because of these plankton “bioluminescence,” it produces a very short burst of light when stimulated by movement. The Bio Bay is best viewed by floating in the water. Your trek to the bioluminous bay leaves at 5:30 PM in winter months and 6:30 PM in the summer months from the Cayman Island Yacht Club Dock B Slip 43. Enjoy a beautiful Cayman sunset on the way to Starfish Point. Bring your own beverage, light dinner or snack to enjoy on the boat or the beach. Coolers and ice water are provided. After leaving Starfish Point we head into the beautiful bio bay and spend 30-45 minutes in the bay. You can swim in the bay wearing a snorkeling mask and life vest or stay on the boat to view this amazing sight. Enjoy star-gazing on your journey back to the dock. You might even see a shooting star on a clear night! Tour is back at the dock by approximately 8:00 pm or 9:00 pm, depending on season and departure time. All guests are kindly asked to call and confirm their tour with us at least 24 hours prior to tour date. Please know that tours under ten passengers may not run. Thank you.
