We begin the day with our city loop tour where we will provide guided commentary of Hobart's major attractions and landmarks. Our first destination is the awe-inspiring kunanyi, also known as Mt. Wellington. Ascend to the pinnacle at 1272m and be mesmerized by the breathtaking panoramic view of Hobart and its surroundings. Maria Island is a National Park off the East Coast of Tasmania. The only permanent residents are the abundant wildlife. There are no cars or buses, and we explore this wild island on foot. Freycinet Aqua Express offers a return coastal transfer with easy bushwalk to Wineglass Bay where you can relax taking in the white sands and crystal clear waters. Be sure to pack your beach gear and a picnic to unwind on the pristine beach before walking back to meet the boat to take you back to Coles Bay. The half day option departs Coles Bay at 10.45am and arrives at Hazards Beach at 11.15am. Expected time to bushwalk to Wineglass Bay is 30 minutes. Freycinet Aqua Express will meet you at Hazards Beach at 2.15 for the transfer back to Coles Bay. We recommend starting to walk back to Hazards Beach by 1.30pm. The tour starts with a fun & interesting bus journey to the summit. Our experienced local guides will lead you all the way, providing commentary on the history, and nature of the area. Your first bike ride is an exhilarating 6 km road descent from the summit of Mt Wellington. Starting 1270 metres above sea level, the summit experience & road descent have breathtaking views. The second ride is an 11km off-road guided ride, gently rolling down an enchanting track through stunning temperate rainforest. You'll experience breathtaking vistas, towering eucalyptus forests, gigantic ferns, a waterfall, walk under historic aqueducts, gaze into crystal clear babbling streams, and catch glimpses of curious local wildlife. In between rides, we stop off at the Lost Freight Cafe, where you'll have time to grab some refreshments. The ride finishes back at our Hobart office.
